Royal Agricultural Societies Associateship Award
Celebrating Farming’s high achievers – Gareth Griffiths. The English Panel of the Council for Awards of the Royal Agricultural Societies (CARAS) held an awards ceremony in the House of Lords, hosted by Lord Taylor of Holbeach FRAgS in the presence of HRH the Princess Royal, Fellow.

25 years of dedicated service BEMB Research & Education Trust
The BEMB Research & Education Trust has finally been able to thank Gareth Griffiths for his amazing 25 years of dedicated service as a Trustee. Gareth received a gift of two crystal inscribed beer glasses from Welsh Royal Crystal. They were engraved with the words “With thanks for your long service as a Trustee to the BEMB Trust.”

Poultry Business of the Year – National Egg & Poultry Awards
After being founded in the 1960s, Griffiths Family Farms grew to become the largest colony producer, packing over one billion eggs per year. As the market has changed, so has Griffiths, and the business is now converting to cage free with 500,000 hens so far on new systems. It has invested in a new muck burner that will make 1.25 mega-watts of electricity and has also recently opened a new liquid egg plant, showing it is a business fit for the future.

Aled Griffiths OBE, Griffiths Family Farms – His leadership within the industry has earnt him his reputation worldwide, including running The Centre of Excellence for animal welfare and egg production. He is an inspiration to many and is a truly deserving recipient of this award.

The Pullet Rearer of the Year Award
The Griffiths family won The Pullet Rearer of the Year Award at the National Egg and Poultry Awards 2021. This ceremony recognised outstanding individuals, business excellence and investment in the future of the poultry industry.
2018
The Peter Kemp Award for Outstanding Contribution to the British Egg Industry
Mr Griffiths, the founder of Oaklands Farm Eggs Ltd, was presented with the award at the Eggs & Poultry Industry Conference (EPIC) on Monday, 5th November 2018 at the Celtic Manor Resort, Newport, South Wales.

International Egg Person of the Year
International Egg Commission’s (IEC) conference in Kyoto, Japan. Mr Griffiths was awarded the Denis Wellstead Memorial Trophy.

Health and Welfare Award
Winner of the Health & Welfare Award, at the Pig & Poultry Marketing Awards held on 14 May, was Oaklands Farm from Ellerdine, near Telford. In this category the judges looked for producers who could demonstrate a high standard of livestock production, livestock disease prevention through effective health, welfare and biosecurity regimes and those who are generally raising the standards of animal and human health on farm.
2009
Breakthrough of the Year Award
Oaklands technical director Mr Elwyn Griffiths received the breakthrough of the year award at the British Free Range Egg Producers Association annual meeting. The award was presented for the first time in two years and went to Oaklands farm eggs – the first packer to commit to stamping 100% of eggs on farm.
